Mr. Binyamin Shahid, Regional Manager of SNGPL Sargodha, visited Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry today.
President Khawaja Yasir Qayyum, Senior Vice President Mian Muhammad Imran, Acting Vice President Mr. Ashar Ehsan Cheema, Former Presidents Mr. Asif Ameer Awan, Mr. Fazal ur Rehman, Sheikh Zia Amin, and Members Executive Committee attended the meeting who raised important questions and concerns.
President Khawaja Yasir Qayyum highlighted that the decline of the Bakelite Industry in Sargodha is primarily due to the unavailability of gas, which has led to unemployment for hundreds of families and financial losses. He also expressed concerns about extremely low gas pressure, pushing people towards gas cylinders, which further weakens the national economy.
Mr. Binyamin Shahid, Regional Manager, acknowledged the issues and assured that SNGPL is working on solutions. He emphasized that consolidating industries, particularly the Bakelite Industry, into a single location could significantly improve the situation. He also shared that rising gas prices and policy decisions under OGRA regulations have contributed to challenges. However, the department is actively working to address supply issues and reduce gas theft across the region.
At the conclusion, Senior Vice President Mian Muhammad Imran thanked the Regional Manager for addressing the committee and for his commitment to finding practical solutions.
